Enabling Compiz On Linux Mint 12 Lisa desktop (GNOME Classic).view story

http://linuxlandit.blogspot.com – This tutorial shows how you can enable Compiz on a Linux Mint 12 Lisa desktop (the system must have a 3D- capable graphics card –). I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce 8200 here). With Compiz you can use beautiful 3D effects like wobbly windows or a desktop cube on your desktop. 1 Preliminary NoteI have tried this on a desktop computer with an NVIDIA GeForce 8200. (HowTos)

Mounting Google Documents in GNU/Linux is just not a (real) optionview story

http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com – If you use Google Documents, you might want to be able to access your files without using a browser. So, I was all set, happy to write a good blog entry about how to mount your Google Documents folder on your Ubuntu. (This is not a very free-software thing to do, granted. But then again, if you are an Ubuntu One user, well, Ubuntu One server isn't free software either. (General)

Change Startx Default on Slackware?view story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I installed Slackware as a VM within Virtual Box. Host is Windows 7, if it matters. I have successfully installed guest additions and XFCE starts and runs cleanly with or without the guest additions. KDE however (which was set as the default for startx) starts well giving me the appropriate desktop at the appropriate resolution but crashes halfway during the splashscreen animation. (HowTos)

sudo in zsh: vim autocorrecting to .vimview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Hey guys. Recently, (possibly as of zsh 4.3.15), whenever I'm in ~, zsh has been prompting me to autocorrect sudo vim $filename to sudo .vim $filenameWithout "sudo", zsh makes no attempt to uncorrect "vim", which vaguely reminds me of having a sudo="sudo " alias in bash to get autocompletion working for sudo commands. atd load and interval configurationview story

http://askubuntu.com – I've been using at -q b now and batch commands recently for a project of mine. The problem is that no matter how I modify the conf file it will not take my changes into account. The exec line in /etc/init/atd.conf is as follows : exec atd -l 2.5 -b 10 I restart atd with sudo service atd restart but it's still only running the commands every 2mn (I thought atd default was 60s anyways?).
