(it was antix, fwiw)after shooting in the dark (=trying to solve the problem without really knowing what i'm doing) for a while, i did manage to restore grub, and i can boot into all 3 distros currently installed. The installation went smooth, but as soon as I did a yum update and rebooted, I got a black screen almost immediately (about 2 seconds) after selecting the new kernel from the grub menu. (HowTos)
