[ubuntu] Connecting to Windows Network At Workview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello I work at the help desk at a school. I am wanting to try running Ubuntu on my work laptop, but when I try to connect to a share folder where we store everything that I use for work from day to day I get an error about mounting the network or something. I am new to Linux and really want to learn it. (HowTos)

Multiple distros = multiple bootloaders. How do I set THE bootloader that shows?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I know of two separate bootloaders present on my disk: GRUB2 which is on my Ubuntu partition and GRUB legacy on the BackTrack partition. How do I know which bootloader comes up when my computer boots? Is it the MBR that selects the bootloader? I imagine the booting process happens like this: --power on-- bios: use disk hd0 (HowTos)

Mouse pointer no longer moves after attempted install of bluetoothview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I am using Ubuntu 10.04 on a laptop with a Synaptics touchpad. While testing an install of Bluetooth drivers I booted my computer into recovery mode so I could find out if Bluetooth worked before networking was installed. The system reconfigured the graphics to low VGA which disabled the mouse. I rebooted (normal startup) uninstalled the bluetooth drivers, but my mouse still won't work. (HowTos)

OpenSuse has won overview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I've never been an OpenSuse user. I would install it as a dual boot or in a virtual box but I've never really switched. I was very interested in the 10.X days but there were so many issues that kept me away. (Distributions)
