Why can't I send email from one server but I can from another?view story

http://serverfault.com – I'm trying to send email from PHP using mail(). I have complete access to both servers. No unusual iptables rules on either (nothing blocking a default install of sendmail) I installed sendmail on the one server a couple of years ago (Ubuntu 10.10) and that sends mail from PHP just fine. What is the Ubuntu Server's relationship to LAMP?view story

http://askubuntu.com – Alright, I don't know if it's a good idea to challenge these two, is there any relation between them? I understand LAMPP: it's the installation of Apache, MySql, PHP and Perl (or Python) on Linux. But I don't quite understand what the Ubuntu server is. Please, explain me what I can do with Ubuntu server and if it has any relation with LAMPP. (if yes, is it better than LAMPP?). Thank you. (HowTos)

I've never setup my own "server" before, but a few people recommend CentOS to setup my Lamp stack. (HowTos)
