Keyboard works on start up, but stops functioning as soon as the bios loadview story

http://superuser.com – I have quite an unusual problem. My keyboard works fine on the OS and during start up, so I can easily hit Del to enter bios or F8 to choose disk. In either those screens, however, the keyboard (and mouse, because my bios support that) suddenly stops working, even the leds (if on) shut down, and I can't do anything. Any ideas? My BIOS is Gigabyte UEFI DualBios. (HowTos)

run scriptin userspace on barcode being scannedview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I have a usb barcode scanner that is recognized as HID device and works fine as a keyboard. I have a small program (that i found and don't understand) that decodes the barcode and outputs the numbers (it seems letters are missing). I can run this program before login and thereby have a headless barcode scanner. (HowTos)

[SOLVED] How to change keyboard layout and variant?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Everytime I install Slackware I get this issue. I realize that due to the non-uniform way Linux is set up that it's pretty much impossible to force every program to acknowledge one implementation. Well, unless it's made a kernel level setting. At least, that's my understanding, I'm hardly the last word. Anyway, I have set it to dvorak layout in the console, but Fluxbox doesn't recognize it. (HowTos)

Tips How to search in browser?view story

http://androidforums.com – Might be a dumb question, but I can't figure out how to use a pull down search tab while on forum websites. Usually, a small popup type tab opens and you type in your search term for that form. Numerous forums use this, but I can't get it to work on my phone. When the keyboard opens, the search window closes. Help a dummy? (General)

Support Reinstall Samsung Keyboard?view story

http://androidforums.com – So a few months ago I uninstalled Samsung Keyboard because I wasn't using it and then recently I decided to encrypt my phone just for the heck of it (I'm a security nerd) and because I didn't really care about the risk of losing data. What happened was the encryption was successful, but when a screen appeared asking for me to type in my encryption key, no keyboard popped up. (General)

Use CTRL-SPACE to open menu on Linux Mintview story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I'd like to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + SPACE to open/close the Linux Mint menu (similar to how Command + SPACE is used on OS X to show/hide Spotlight). I tried going to Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Cinnamon and setting CTRL + SPACE for the key "Menu button". Upon restarting, the key combination doesn't work at all. This is a vanilla install of Linux Mint 17. (HowTos)
