[ubuntu] Getting Java 1.5 to work, pulling my hair outview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I need to somehow get a browser working with the java 1.5 plug-in. I don't care what browser and what version of that browser. I just spent half a day jerking around with every version of firefox going back to 3.x as well as good chrome. Does anyone know of a way to get this working with any browser at all under ubuntu 11.10? Thanks greatly, CC (Hardware)

http://askubuntu.com – I already have Sun Java (not OpenJDK) installed, but I'm still having audio issues. OpenJDK didn't display the slides, which was fixed by Sun Java, but the audio was bad in both of them. Is there any fix? I have been looking for a long time. (HowTos)

How do I install javahl _without_ pulling in all the openjdk stuff?view story

http://askubuntu.com – On my linux box (oneiric, 64bit) I'm running Eclipse and java straight from the Eclipse/Oracle tarballs. I'd like to install the javaHL subversion libraries, which according to the subclipse wiki are packaged in the libsvn-java package, but if I do an apt-get install libjava-svn apt-get will pull down all sorts of dependencies related to openjdk, which I don't really care for. Full Circle Podcast Episode 28 A Year in Comedyview story

http://fullcirclemagazine.org – The Full Circle Podcast Episode 28: A Year in Comedy. This episode contains fewer facts than usual. It’s a New Year. It’s January. We’re on something of a break, so that can only mean a cheap, and frankly brain-numbingly lazy, listen back to the year 2011. (Distributions)
