Arch Classroomview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – There is a new project in the works called Arch Classroom, and it needs lots of planning and volunteers! The idea is that we use a section on the wiki for class material like lesson plans and tutorials. Then anyone can use that to have a class in real life or online. The project would be similar in scope to Ubuntu Classroom: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Classroom  but probably more arch like. (HowTos)

Open-source and client-side IRC-Clientview story

http://serverfault.com – I'm administrating a homepage with an IRC-Webclient. At the moment, it uses a Java-client, modified to be SSL-compatible and compatible with whatever design I want to use. The usual PJIRC thing, with users wishes and concerns implemented (I'll give you SSL-PJIRC if you want - no problem. (HowTos)

Beta means Pizza. Join the Party or Make your Own!view story

http://news.opensuse.org – So, we’re delaying our release. And Coolo has announced we will do another Beta. There will be plenty of time after the beta and before the release which means: we can test the heck out of it! That calls for… a BetaPizzaParty! You might know the drill by now – we’ve done this before. (Distributions)

I'm not new to CrunchBang, just this forum. :)view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hello all.I recently registered at this forum and am hoping to interact with some cool CrunchBang folks.  I look forward to posting here!I have been using Linux a bit over a year now (since 12/2011).  My main distro is Arch Linux, where I use DWM (Dynamic Window Manager).  Aesthetically, I am a minimalist, so I enjoy making things as simple as possible (but no simpler).  Crunch (HowTos)

[other] No ircd connections under Ubuntuview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello everyone. I have a problem with using Unreal ircd 3.2 on Ubuntu. I programmed a bot a few years back for my firm (nothing harmful or anything of the sorts, just a bot with a huge database of terms that gets updated daily by each employee). What initially started as fun and games for me eventually turned into a habit for most of the employees at my firm. (Hardware)

[OtherOS] Windows 8 and Desktop Linuxview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I personally think it can only go from 1.8% (right now) to about 2.4%, 2.6% if we're lucky. The reason is Microsoft already achieved a monopoly lock on the operating system market. When they finally realize that they are crazy making Windows 8, they could just go back to promoting Windows 7 like hell, like they did with Vista and XP. (Hardware)
