#! is wicked! (New user)view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I ran Ubuntu Hardy Heron since 2008. It had what I needed for that period of time, but things change. Older hardware wasn't being friendly with most of the recent heavier dists so I ran Mint 9. Worked ootb, no complaints, but no surprises. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Does ubuntu default to a color bash prompt if a color term is used?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Im just curious does ubuntu default to a colorized PS1 (bash prompt) if your using a color terminal. Its been a while since Ive used ubuntu and I cant remember. I figured it would be quicker to just ask another user than to download a livecd and check myself. I asked on irc but they seem pretty clueless what Im talking about since nobody answers and my query gets quickly buried. (Hardware)

Hey there!view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi! I've only been using #! for a day now, but I've been using *NIX for many years, all the way back to Debian 2... I used Ubuntu for a few releases, but while their new "Unity" DE is much better than Gnome 3, it's just not for me, and I moved back to Debian stable. (HowTos)

Recently I was looking into distro hopping around and I stopped by the IRC and I noticed something rather strange:If you visited #archlinux per say, you'd expect everyone there to run Arch, and for the most part, they do.But the people in the #!
