Znc problemview story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – As root (I figured I had to be root to do this) I typed in znc --makeconf to run vnc. I want to get on the fedora chat in IRC and would like not to stick my ip address out there for all to see. I got back a warning saying: You are running ZNC as root! Don't do that! There are not many valid [ ** ] reasons for this and it can, in theory, cause great damage! I then exited root. (HowTos)

Very slow download speedview story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I am running a fedora/windows 7 dual boot. I have a rather fast internet connection and on windows it performs at the speed it ought to. I haven't noticed any delays when browsing the internet on Fedora, but right now I am trying to download the IRC client communication via the command su -c 'yum install konversation' and I am downloading at less than 2 killobytes per second. FIxes? Thanks! (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Wlan desperation on 12.04 live-usbview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I'm close to giving up my plans of installing 12.04, because I can't get my wlan chip to work. It's a Broadcom b43225, and I've tried lots of things already. The same chip works under Bodhi Linux 1.4, which is based on Ubuntu (currently 10.04). (Hardware)

[64 bit] Wine cannot use/recognize OpenGL after updateview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've used wine for a very long time, and one of the things I've used it for was for a small game made in game maker which I like very much. Today, an update came through, wanting to update opengl. I accepted, and restarted the system as was required. Wine is now incapable of running that game (Which is 2d, btw). (Hardware)

In Ubuntu, the default terminal emulator is Gnome Terminal and it really got the job done. (Distributions)

How do I launch Pidgin when I click on an irc:// link?view story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – Is there a way that when you click an IRC url (such as irc://##linux) that it will open Pidgin? I believe it has something to do with gconf-editor, but I do not know the terminal command to start an IRC chat in Pidgin. I am using Linux Mint, if that matters. (HowTos)
