I installed freenx as instructed in the "install freenx on ubuntu 11.10" thread and connect from windows. I need to be able to input East Asian text, however, so I tried to install either 'ibus' or 'scim' which was available in the default repos from Statler release 2011.02.04When I searched for ibus or scim in Synaptic, however, the base package was not to be found! Result after a reboot: Still "Not Authorized".This time, neither notification-daemon, nor polkit-gnome-authentification-agent-1, nm-applet or ibus-daemon did start. No idea why.
