Clone working F16 to another boxview story

I changed in BIOS to boot in legacy mode, zeroed the new hdd with and then just cloned the old hdd to the new, bigger hdd using dd. When booting the new laptop, it says that it cannot find a boot partition. Do I have to reinstall grub? (HowTos)

[SOLVED] Two Grubs- Confusingview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have both Precise and Quantal installed on separate partitions on same HDD. While installing Quantal, in my forgetfulness I let it install Grub. No issues so far. Machine works fine. However, whenever there is Grub version upgrade on either versions of Ubuntu or if I run update-grub in either the Grub gets replaced by the version where the upgrade or update happened.
