Xorg can't find screensview story

http://askubuntu.com – I recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my laptop. It installed successfully, but whenever I boot into it, after the GRUB screen I get a text TTY. I can log in with that and enter command-line commands. I have tried: running startx. After initializing extensions, it tries to load extension GLX and then has a fatal error, "no screens found". http://ubuntuforums.org – Fred, I installed grub2 by using Synaptic and I can see a new menu.lst and it picked all the kernels installed on my Ubuntu 12.10 m/c. Great! It however did not have an entry for Windows 7 which is on (hd0,0). So, I manually added the Win 7 entry into the menu.lst as shown below. (Hardware)

Grub freezes at "Starting cmain()..."view story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Hello everyone.  I am having an issue with my grub install.  It was working fine and then it started freezing at: Starting cmain()...I googled it and found that this is a bug.  It apparently has to do with having windows installed as well.  I am dual booting win 7 and arch.   I was unable to find a solution.  Do I need to reinstall grub from the cd?
