[ubuntu] I can't get Ubuntu 12.04 or 13.04 to boot on Macbook Pro 9,2view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello everyone, I have been trying for the last 3 days to get ubuntu to work on my notebook, a macbook pro 9,2 (with ssd if that makes any difference). I have no problem with the installation as I made it install from USB stick or directly from the Live CD, both 12.04 and 13.04. (Hardware)

Grub ignores grub.cfgview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – I reinstalled grub and that seemed to fix the issue. Interestingly, now both of my kernels (stock arch, fallback) are completely b0rked. My custom one is working, but the other two won't even load an initramfs... and before that X wouldn't start under them. I need to boot into a stock kernel in order to recompile my custom one... [ubuntu] Ubuntu Server boots to black screen after Grubview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Well, I figured out my last problem. Now I am faced with a new one. After my most recent change I attempted to create a new mdadm array (a Raid 0) after which I restarted the machine. After restarting, I could boot to grub but I was presented with a black screen. There was no network activity (tested by pinging the static IP assigned to the machine). (Hardware)

http://crunchbang.org – NOT... Hi there, I'm happy to start my next Linux journey with Crunchbang after a few years of the easy distros. I heard good things about the community and crunchbang as a great 'intermediate' distro, so here I am. I'll post an intro once I can complete the install. I have been running a single boot Linux install on my Macbook Pro 5,5 for a few years. (HowTos)

HELP - Ideapad Z580 trashed after Crunchbang installview story

http://crunchbang.org – Just purchased this new z580 in hopes of dual-booting Crunchbang with the existing Windows 8.  Shrunk  win8 partition down to allow room for CB, and installed. No problem. Knowing that I would have to contend with the UEFI bios, I searched around and found joe-2000's post  at http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=21510 and followed along until done. (HowTos)
