borked grubview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi, noob here. I decided I wanted to dual boot PCLinuxOS and wasn't really thinking about things when I installed and allowed PCLOS to install its own grub, overwriting #! on the mbr. After I messed that up, I just figured I would try to get #! on the new grub and leave it be. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Faulty RAM, Memtest86+ & BadRAMview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi! A little time ago I got some computer equipment that I'm trying to put to some good use. Unfortunately the RAM I got (Crucial BallistiX Tracer 2X2GB DDR2 800mhz (total 4GB)) apparently is faulty. After a couple of kernel panics, I've had enough and ran Memtest86+. However, I need some help in order to interpret the results... (Hardware)

http://ubuntuforums.org – Well, I'm getting the oh so dreaded "Mode not Supported" message every time I boot Ubuntu, which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have my computer dual booted with Grub2. This means I can't see the menu or know where I'm going, so I can't open Vista, I can only open Ubuntu. (Hardware)
