GRUB2 uninstall, on MBR? BIOS? Hard drive?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Some time ago I installed Ubuntu on a second hard drive and set up my machine to dual-boot and it worked nicely. I decided that I didn't really use Ubuntu much and it wasn't compatible with some hardware that I had, so I uninstalled it and tried to set everything back to the way it was before. I'm 99% there. Computer boots into GRUB2. How to boot into Windows directly?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi everyone, When I turn on my computer, grub2 starts automatically. It doesn't give me an option, I just turn on my computer and GRUB2 immediately pops on my screen. I tried booting Windows using a variety of commands (trying to set root and then booting that, but I kept getting errors and more and more frustrated). Anyway, seems that if I write exit, then Windows will load. (Hardware)

grub2/initramfs disaster recoveryview story

http://serverfault.com – One of my ubuntu 12.04 is a vm on vmware ESXi host. It has separate boot and root partition. One developer did fsck on the live root partition by mistake and this vm can only boot to initramfs mode with some errors - "/proc is not found". My understanding is root partition inode table was damaged causing read error. This might be fixed by fsck the root partition. (HowTos)
