After a power outage, the filesystem wouldn't mount. fsck is taking weeks to complete, but i ran testdisk and i'm able to see my partition and the files and directories of the root. the problem is the directory that contains most of the data on the disk is in a certain folder that when listed in testdisk lists as a directory. I had no problem in Linux; But today after I mounted it using ext2fsd in a windows box, I cant mount it in linux anymore! Now when you dedicate this slice, do you have to : 1) create a mount point? 2) add entry in /etc/vfstab? 3) is this slice wu or wm? 4) should it mount at boot? 5) should it be fsck?
