Can't create a folder on my newly created partitionview story

http://askubuntu.com – If I have a partition: /dev/sda3 how do I take ownership so that I can create folders? I tried: sudo chown -R chris:chris /dev/sda3 sudo chmod -R 755 /dev/sda3 but when I right click within the folder 'Create new folder' is still greyed out? Thanks for any assistance. (HowTos)

Explode all foldersview story

http://superuser.com – I've got a folder with about a hundred sub folders and again each ones of those has between 10 and 20 sub folders, so all in all a pretty large folder tree. Is there a simple way I can explode or export all of the files in the tree to a new folder which will just be one folder contain the files (no folders, no trees)? Each time i need to run a dir to know the folder size. I noticed that there is that option in windows explorer but why does the size of thoses folders is never showing up? Data recovery on a corrupted 3TB diskview story

The file data is intact, but the references are no longer present. Analogous to recovering data from a "quick-formatted" partition.
