Windows Module Installer high cpu usage on my new tabletview story

http://forums.anandtech.com – Got myself Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130 tablet, 8GB/256GB config. Did a clean Win8.1x64 reinstall, installed manufacturer drivers (as opposed to the ones provided by Dell), everything is running smooth except for the Windows Module Installer process. It keeps eating around 30% of my CPU time which drains the battery and also makes the fan spin up on an otherwise quiet tablet. (Hardware)

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS installview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – looks like Ubuntu 14.04 LTS has proven itself again. At least in the laptop's wireless hardware dept. After installing other Linux OS, some Ubuntu-based and others not, the only one that worked automatically on my laptop with my built-in wireless chipset was this version of Ubuntu. (Hardware)

Yamaha YMF-724 and siblingsview story

http://hardforum.com – Good evening all, I just wanted to make those of you who want a PCI soundcard that can run in DOS aware of this sound card. The YMF-724 is just a two-channel sound card, but it's pretty much the ultimate PCI legacy sound card. It has a real OPL3 chip, so that your Sound Blaster or Adlib titles will play just nice with it. It emulates the Sound Blaster Pro digital part just fine as well. (Hardware)

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey guys, I recently bought an Acer E3-111-C6LG laptop. However, I'm absolutel not happy with it. After a lot of pain, I managed to install Ubuntu 12.04.5. Everything seems working fine so far however, whenever I try to play mp3s with mplayer for example it is lagging so badly that I just turn it off. Same with youtube videos that I try watch in the browser - forget it. (Hardware)
