Fileserver (at home) strategy with LVM?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi, I need som advice. I have a CentOS machine at home serving mainly as a fileserver. It has a few hard drives for this purpose alone - mounted as /mnt/media0, /mnt/media1, /mnt/media2. What I'd like is to have all of these drives act as one big "file pile" - but I don't want raid or jbod because I don't want one disk failure to kill the whole "array". (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Securing NFS Server & Clientview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello. I have been using ubuntu off and on for nearly a year. Today I decided to ditch samba and try NFS for the first time. After a rough hour I finally got it working but since it does not as for a username & password like samba I was wondering if there was any tips to making sure it is as secure as possible without using SSH. Issue with Grubview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – On my desktop I had a dual boot with crunchbang and ubuntu and I didn't pay much mind to the fact that when I installed crunchbang after ubuntu, ubuntu's grub was still installed on the disk's master boot record.  The other day I added a hard drive and decided to clean up and organize my hard drives. With this added hard drive it makes a total of 4 drives in the desktop. (HowTos)

initramfs-tools scripts and initrd image for encrypted systemview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I'm trying to get my system encrypted with truecrypt but I'm facing some problems (please don't tell me to use luks or loop-aes, my objective is to use truecrypt). The most blatant issue is the fact that the script that I put in /etc/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/local-top-truecrypt is not being executed at all. In fact, it's not even present in the generated initrd image. (HowTos)
