SVM - Concatenation of 2 mirrorsview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I have 2 mirrors: Code: d10 = 10Gb d20 = 15Gb Is it possible to merge those 2 mirrors into a RAID-0 ? (this way I could have 35Gb as a one disk space) I tried this: Code: # metainit -f d30 1 2 d10 d20 metainit: solx: d10: is a metadevice ...but as u see it wont allow to use mirrors. Is there any trick/hack to merge it ? (HowTos)

Discard caused sluggishnessview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Just a note,I enabled the 'discard' option in fstab to enable TRIM support for the SSD drive, following this recipe, and tested it accordingly. All seemed fine, trim working. But: I noticed that after doing this my system had slowed down, noticably when scrolling in a window (file manager, web browser, whatever). (HowTos)

Very slow Raid performance - Only write speedview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hey people I have recently migrated my file server over to a HP Microserver. The server has two 1TB disks, in a software RAID-1 array, using MDADM. When I migrated simply moved the mirrored disks over, from the old server Ubuntu 9.10 (server) to the new one 10.04.1 (server). I Have recently noticed that write speed to the RAID array is *VERY* slow. (HowTos)

server setup advice on raid and encryptionview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I've decided to try and set up a simple home server with debian. I can either install the OS on a compact flash card and use hard disks as storage, or just install everything on the hard disk. I'd also like to set up a software raid for mirroring. I've never done this before, and most recently updated documentation i've found is for ubuntu. (HowTos)

New Backup Serverview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Nearly lost my past two years of movie, TV, & video recordings (4TB), and so decided it's time to move forward with my backup server. It'll be in an ITX cube case ($140), out in the garage down low, where it'll be safe from theft and fire. (HowTos)

Upgrade and backup strategy.view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hullo All, I am about to move from Fedora 13 to Fedora 14, which is cause for some trepidation. I run quite a specialised system, many additional packages and libraries, so a clean install, which was the process I used to go from F12 to F13, can be quite an exercise, and to be avoided if possible.
