Before Buying Dedicated Web Hostingview story

http://dedicatedhostingweb.org – With a dedicated server, all the resources of the server, as well as the IP address, are unique to that website and are yours to use as you want. A dedicated web hosting service might be the ideal thing for you if you have a very busy website. It can be used to host just 1 site or many. You have access to the entire bandwidth of the server, and you can use as much disk space as needed. (HowTos)

Multiple distros = multiple bootloaders. How do I set THE bootloader that shows?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I know of two separate bootloaders present on my disk: GRUB2 which is on my Ubuntu partition and GRUB legacy on the BackTrack partition. How do I know which bootloader comes up when my computer boots? Is it the MBR that selects the bootloader? I imagine the booting process happens like this: --power on-- bios: use disk hd0 (HowTos)

Install 11.3, thinks my booting hdd is sdc - wrongview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – Full x86 dvd, shasum ok, self-check ok. Get to the partition edit and custom create. The hdd I want to install to shows as /dev/sdc. This pc has a booting IDE hdd plus 2 scsi hdds for data copies and swap. Needless to say (!) the scsis have luns 5,6 (non-booting) and the bios knows what boots first. (Distributions)

11.3 - Patterns, a "light" KDE, & uninstalling Office uninstalls KDE?view story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I'm confused about patterns et al. I've been trying to install from the i586 11.3 DVD a light version of KDE. Basically I disallow the auto-configuration, go into the Software menu, and try to deselect Office (which it only pretends to allow but does not really allow via the "Do not install" RMB menu). I go into "Details" and deselect the office patterns. (Distributions)

Upgrade fails because /boot won't mountview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I was running openSUSE 11.2 on a Dell Studio with a mirrored disk. The upgrade to 11.3 went well it seemed until it got to the point of installing the new bootloader. Then it couldn't mount /boot. Otherwise it seemed to go OK though. (Distributions)
