So I backed it up and clean-installed Lubuntu 12.10 Quantal from a live USB stick. It connected to the internet just fine when I plugged in an ethernet cable, but now I'm at a friend's house and it's not picking up the wi-fi at all. (Hardware)

I'm currently able to get the port, but not the IP... How can I get it, the best solution would be to be able to get it with a sockaddr_in. (HowTos)

Therefore, when I connected it to the computer, only a few files were there the rest of the images seemed to have dissapeared. Email this pagehttp://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I have an older computer that's pretty outdated. I had Ubuntu 9.10 installed on it but in an attempt to upgrade it, the OS is now no longer usable. I found a 9.10 live CD which I can run but installation has become a problem. When I tried using a newer CD, I get an error that the CD was created too fast so it can't be read. (Hardware)
