Is it worth the trouble of porting games to linux?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I really enjoy making computer games in C++ and SDL but from a market point of view, is it really worth the trouble of porting a game to linux? Don't get me wrong but I was under the impression that all linux users want their games/programs to be free. Obviously that isn't conductive to keeping a business. (HowTos)

D-Link DPR1260 and Ubuntu 10.04view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Just installed Ubuntu. It's my first experience with Linux. Everything works great except I can't seem to get at my printers via the D-Link DPR-1260 Wireless print server. I go though the printer setup dialogs to set this thing up as an LPD printer, and I end up with a "Device URI" of lpd://192.168.1.12/deskjet5100 (HowTos)

Questions about multiple hardware issues...view story

http://forums.opensuse.org – Hi all: I am giving 11.3 a test for the sake of a review, and I'd like to ask a couple of questions here to make sure that I have some facts straight. For the most part, problems have been few, but for users who aren't familiar with Linux to begin with, some problems I ran into would be potential show-stoppers. (Distributions)

Need help upgrading my kernel from 2.6.26.1 to 2.6.34.1view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – So after realizing that my current kernel (2.6.26.1) doesn't support my audio card, while the current stable (2.6.34.1) does, I apparently need to build a new kernel. The only guides I can find are from the late 90s, so I'm posting here hoping for a more up-to-date and debian-oriented guide. (HowTos)

Nvidia Performance Levelview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I have noticed in Linux that in order to get my Nvidia card to run full speed I have to change the Power Mizer settings in the nvidia-settings application. The power setting defaults to "Adaptive" which means that the card runs slow. (HowTos)
