Questions about multiple hardware issues...view story

http://forums.opensuse.org – Hi all: I am giving 11.3 a test for the sake of a review, and I'd like to ask a couple of questions here to make sure that I have some facts straight. For the most part, problems have been few, but for users who aren't familiar with Linux to begin with, some problems I ran into would be potential show-stoppers. (Distributions)

Need help upgrading my kernel from 2.6.26.1 to 2.6.34.1view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – So after realizing that my current kernel (2.6.26.1) doesn't support my audio card, while the current stable (2.6.34.1) does, I apparently need to build a new kernel. The only guides I can find are from the late 90s, so I'm posting here hoping for a more up-to-date and debian-oriented guide. (HowTos)

Belkin wireless card in Ubuntuview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I am completely new to all UNIX-based operating systems, and installed Ubuntu 9.04 a few days ago. Naturally one of the first things I wanted to do was to connect it to the internet (from what I gather an internet connection is integral to using linux), and to connect it to the internet I needed to connect it to my home wireless network.
