Deb installer problemsview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I recently installed Crunchbang on my computer (actually, Ubuntu 9.10 minimal install with the 9.04 Crunchbang script).  Anyway, it seems to work fine, but I'm having a problem.  There are a few programs I like that aren't in the repositories.  I can't get deb files to install when I click on them in PCmanfm.  I've also tried them in Dolphin (I like dolphin) (HowTos)

rsync fails in cron - ssh key prob for rsync?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Greetings I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server and Postgresql 8.4. I have a .sh script that is run by cron every other hour. That works fine. The .sh script includes an rsync command that copies a postgresql dump .tar file to a remote archive location via ssh. That fails when run by cron; I think because it is (quietly) asking for the remote user's password (and not getting it). (HowTos)

I would like to come back at 9:30, see how the process is running, and being able to interact with it... lets say kill it, or whatever... is it possible? (its not necessary to use cron, but it must be in COMMAND LINE) (HowTos)

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hello all,I'm running Statler Xfce amd64, and I have deleted the tint2 panel (complete removal through Synaptic), because I wanted to use Xfce's own panel instead. After doing 'sudo xfce4-panel' it starts, but my problem is that it's lost after reboot. (HowTos)
