Search Alt+F2 historyview story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I wonder if there's some way to search the Alt+F2 "runner" history most preferably within the dialog itself. I know that in Cinnamon the values are available in dconf-editor under org.cinnamon command-history but I'm not sure how to take advantage of this knowledge Currently on Linux Mint 15 if that matters. EDIT: To be clear, I know that I can cycle through history with Up and Down arrow. (HowTos)

Midnight Commander, using date in User menuview story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I would like to use MC to compress the selected dir with date in its name, e.g: dirname_20131231.tar.gz The command in the User menu is : tar -czf dirname_date '+%Y%m%d'.tar.gz %d The archive is missing because %m, and %d has another meaning in MC. I made an alias for the date, but it also doesnt work. Does anybody solved this problem ever ? Thanks in advance. (HowTos)
