[ubuntu] 5.1 audio over HDMIview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, running 12.10 amd64 on a ASUS M5A88-M Motherboard with a built in RS880 [Radeon HD 4250] graphics card. I've got a nice 5.1 surround sound AV receiver which only accepts HDMI, so I'm not interested in any other way to play audio other than HDMI. I've built a home theatre PC, so having the graphics on the MoBo cuts down on space, power and fan noise. (Hardware)

Fedora Live on USB Stick Hangs when booting on new 2012 iMacview story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi, I have a USB stick with 64-bit F17 Live on it. This works fine (in text mode, anyway, with 'nomodeset' option) on my older 2011 iMac (ATI graphics). I'm not using an overlay or a persistent home image. On the new iMac (nVidia graphics), I get the grub screen. When I pick an option, the menu disappears and it just hangs. The grub background graphic is there, but nothing else. (HowTos)
