Wine added a system wide audio filter?view story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I played a windows-based game on gameonlinux today and noted, afterwards, that if I look at videos (vlc, flash), the frequency-band for speech is all but muted. I am not very familiar with the sound system on linux (running arch) but I figure that I'm using ALSA as a sound server. Where should I even begin searching for a solution to this? (HowTos)

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I have a Plantronics 590 bluetooth headset (the type probably does not matter, but I have no alternative to test). Using the old 3.02 I was able to use this via pulseaudio. With the current 3.11-amd64 kernel this does no longer work. I am still able to pair and to connect to the headset, using HSP profile. I get a "beep" on the headset to confirm connection. Unfortunataly there is neither input (HowTos)
