Zend Raises Another $9 million - For What?

DevX: "It's starting off to be a good week for open source configuration management vendor Puppet Labs. The startup announced today that it has raised an additional $5 million in venture funding, bringing total funding to $7 million to date."

So the NHS has decided not to renew a large Microsoft licensing deal. Basically it had agreed a while ago to spend £500 million on Microsoft software in return for a £300 million discount. What a bargain!

Computer World: "Well, today Red Hat is a $750 million business according to Whitehurst. But when, I wanted to know, would Red Hat reach that $5 billion turnover � and why was it taking so long?"

ServerWatch: "Among the biggest backers of KVM are Linux vendors Red Hat and Ubuntu, though in at least one use case the solutions they're marketing aren't necessarily the solutions that cloud deployments are using."
