YUM workin with a proxy

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi, I have been trying to get my updates on a network that runs a proxy. I have been able to get it working in both Ubuntu and OpenSuse in under 10 minutes, but in Fedora (12) whatever I have tried has not worked. I have tried using the Network Proxy gui tool as well as manually entering the proxy information into /etc/yum.conf and neither method works. Although I can browse the net through Firefox with no issues I cannot install or update any software. The proxy info is: proxy=http://proxy:3128 proxy_username=username proxy_password=password I do not know what the proxy IP is, but I have not needed it for Ubuntu or OpenSuse. Another program that I noticed that is not connecting is Empathy. (HowTos)
