I recently upgraded my x86_64 system from FC8 to FC10 using Pre-Upgrade. (related blog link) It appears that the upgrade process installed a steaming pile of i386 packages that are duplicates of existing x86_64 packages. I now get update errors because of this package clash.
I recently switched my system to 64bit openSuSE11.2. Works so far.
One problem is that one commercial product (german Duden corrector for OpenOffice) does not work with the 64bit version of OpenOffice but only with 32bit.

I am running Centos 5.8 (Linux 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5 on x86_64), and wish to upgrade MySQL version 5.0.95. I am using a tutorial found at http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2010/install-mysql-on-fedora-cento.... When I get to the following, I get the host of errors. Seems to have something to do with going from 386 to 86x64. Can anyone help?
