have a DSL modem setup with 192.168.1.1 local IP. Everything working fine. Then have a linksys wireless router that I have connected to the DSL modem. I have enabled DHCP on the wireless router, and have assigned 192.168.107.1 IP address to this router, with 255.255.255.0 as the mask.
We have a small office network with DSL and a Netgear WNR-2000 wireless router acting as a DHCP server. There are nine devices connected to the router, wirelessly and wired. Whenever a Mac computer tries to connect, it's unsuccessful until we restart the router.
I have a Netgear router in my living room that has the wireless signal. It is connected to a Powerline plug that goes up to my bedroom. That is plugged into another router that is used as an ethernet hub. It's cables go into my PS3 and my server. The second router shows up as a hidden network on my laptop, and I can connect to it.
hello all, i have a problem connecting to the internet at home, but have no problem connecting to the internet in other places. My computer connect ot the router but does not receive a connection to the internet form the router. this happens both wireless and ethernet. at the same time everybody elses computers (using windows) connect to the internet in my home.
I am having trouble with a site to site tunnel.
Both routers are centos based routers.
Router A is the server, and router B is the client.

From router A (and the network behind it),
I cannot ping anything on the network behind router B, or behind router A.
So basically, router B is the only node that
I have very little understanding (ok no technical ability so be gentle)
Ubuntu 10.10 connects to a DSL modem without any problems - I mean I just plugged it in and it worked - GREAT
I bought a wireless router so I could connect my netbook and now my Ubuntu machine which is simply using a cable from the wireless router now DOES NOT connect.
I tried a windows machine on the wired connection from
My home router uses WPA2 for my Wi-Fi, but I'm experimenting with homebrew programs on my Nintendo DS and it requires an internet connection. However, the DS's current firmware (and even all the custom homebrew firmware I could find) only supports the WEP protocol. I do not want to downgrade my router from WPA2 to WEP however.
So I am having this problem because I don't know anything about routers and I don't know anything about linux.
When I first upgraded to 9.10 the network manager wouldn't connect to my DSL so I used the pppoeconf ( I don't know what it does just that it works now).
My friend uses a 3G router for her home internet connection, using a T-Mobile UK PAYG SIM.
It's horribly unreliable and we think the culprit is the 3G router.
As a test, we placed an Android phone in the same location on the same network and used it as a WiFi hotspot.
