This is very strange. I have always used the same router and have never had trouble logging in from simply typing in 192.168 1.1. Yet I just tried it and whether I use IE or firefox it acts like I am trying to either google search or yahoo search it. IE if I type it into IE and hit enter the yahoo search comes up with the numbers, if I do it with FF it does a google search, wtf?
Using Linux Mint 16 with FireFox31 with Yahoo as default search engine.
Why they would include M$ in the works is beyond me.

ComScore just published its latest U.S. search market numbers and things aren’t looking too good for Yahoo. Yahoo’s Bing-powered search lost another 0.6 percentage points and now has just 12.2 percent of the market.
I would pop open my browser to a pure no bone search engine. Not any more... Altavista is gone, I don't care much for those others. Yahoo was the basis for the search engine without the ads and clutter.
Is it too much to ask for a search engine that doesn't look like it was made by a teenager on too much acid? ???
You know how you start to type something and if you don't type it really fast all the search engines (google, bing, yahoo) will autocomplete it with some other words and then do a search that you didn't ask for. Is there a way to turn off this feature? Without having to sign up for lots of accounts.
Today Yahoo announced that it has partnered with Yelp to bring local data into its search experience, both mobile and desktop. The deal will see traditional Yelp information, such as ratings and user photos piped into Yahoo. Put another way, Yahoo’s search is now flavored with more third-party data that it lacks.
