Hi. I have a Lenovo x120e and i just installed xubuntu on it. Xubuntu recognizes the wifi card and shows the wireless network at my house as within range with good signal. However, it cannot connect.
I tried installing the Realtek driver, but failed because I don't know how to install the .sh files.
What should i do?
I am pretty new to Linux and from everything i've read Ubuntu was pretty user friendly so someone who isnt too experienced with Linux. I installed Xubuntu 9.10 and I have a Intel(R) 5100 AGN wireless card. The problem i'm having is that I can't get my wireless card to authenticate (WPA/WPA2 personal) to my router. I can connect to unsecure networks fine but can't connect to any WPA connections..
I am going to assume Xubuntu is the best choice in my situation.
Kubuntu 12.04 worked fine on an older computer, but it was evident that 12.10 was too much for it. So, I decided to put Xubuntu on instead, and it loads faster, but it's Xubuntu 12.04.
Now, I am trying to upgrade to 12.10, and I don't see the option to do this.
Hello, i buy a new Computer and i want to use Xubuntu. I downloaded Xubuntu 12.04 64 Bit Desktop. If i try to boot from Live CD my Screen wents with bright colors and reboot what can i do? Currently i have windows 7 64 bit installed wich works without problems.
I have an old Gateway desktop computer which is now running Xubuntu. When I moved it to my office I installed a Linksys USB Wireless Adapter, model WUSB12 version 1. This was not accomplished without incident--I installed ndisgtk (I already had ndiswrapper) and changed some settings (which I cannot remember right now) but after about an hour it worked.
I tried Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 and although quite slow on my laptop it did work, found my wireless and best of all mounted my Sony Xperia S with ICS and I could copy files to and from the device.
I then tried Xubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 curiously it could not see any wireless, Xubuntu 12.04.1 sees mine and the neighbours and also would not mount my Sony.
I do hope Xubuntu catches up with the final rel

I had windows 8 initially installed on my Asus notebook before wiping and replacing with Xubuntu 13.04.
I've been using Ubuntu 10.04 for a couple years now and decided to try some newer distros(Ubuntu 11.10, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Linux Mint 12). I'm currently running a dual-boot Xubuntu/Windows 7 desktop. Trying all the stated distros, I notice that when i shutdown the computer, which is connected to a router via ethernet, that the LAN activity light/connection at the router, remains on.
