Dear All,
I made a fresh xubuntu 9.10 installation on my laptop (amilo pa 3553 fujitsu-siemens,amd64 architecture).
The problem is that the network manager applet does not allow me to enable wireless. I have always had problems with my own wireless card, but I have also tried 2 usb wireless sticks: Belkin Wireless-G USB Adapter and D-link DWL-G122 (allegedly linux-friendly).
Let me preface things by saying I am an extremely inexperienced Linux user. Here goes: I have a Acer Revo R3600 and I installed Xbmcbuntu 11.0 to it. Things were working fine until I realised the wireless card was only b/g. I purchased a Intel 5100 wireless N card on eBay. I installed it today but have been unable to get online since then. I fail to get a ip address in XBMC.
hello everyone i m quite new to ubuntu lucid 10.04 but for me is fantastic ,ive got just a small problem my sony vaio fw56z laptop (with intel 5100 wireless card) just connect 2,4 ghz to my time capsule and get 72 mb/s maxium speed so i guess it s in n wireless mode but in 2,4 ghz band.
Hi there,
I just installed/and updated Xubuntu 10.10 on an older Toshiba Satellite laptop with a belkin wireless card.
When I start up I get a notification that wireless networks are available, and I can choose and connect to my network just fine.
Hi,
Having had a working Broadcom wifi card I decided to replace it with an Intel 5100 thinking it would improve the reception and generally poor performance in finding and logging on to wireless connections.
However after installing the card and doing a clean system 10.04 install I can't get wireless working.
Hi. I have a Lenovo x120e and i just installed xubuntu on it. Xubuntu recognizes the wifi card and shows the wireless network at my house as within range with good signal. However, it cannot connect.
I tried installing the Realtek driver, but failed because I don't know how to install the .sh files.
What should i do?
Hello, all,
I have an Asus t91mt netbook, running on xubuntu 12.04. I've been having wireless problem for a long time(half year maybe), I've searched a lot, I've asked on forums several times, but never got a working solution. I am giving another shot here.
The network manager applet is able to show the available wireless networks, please see the pic below.
I've recently installed Xubuntu 10.10 onto my Dell Inspiron Mini (I think 1011), and found that my internet flat out doesn't work, wired or wireless. When I connect the netbook to an ethernet wire, it says I am connected, but fails to load any pages or connect to the internet for any purpose (updater, drivers, etc.).
During my tests i installed a Debian 6 Squeeze on an Old laptop with an integrated ethernet card and a PCMCIA wireless card.
Problem, after the install all works perfectly but the wireless, and installing new packages without a net is not so comfortable.
So I decided to use my laptop with Xubuntu as gateway, the Xubuntu has a working wireless card and a free ethernet slot.
