Using Xubuntu 12.04.1 with the standard LightDM login screen, I'm offered the choice between two sessions at login. One is "Xubuntu session" and the other is "Xfce session" (I do not save sessions automatically at exit).
However I see almost no difference in operation or appearance between the two.
When i he the "hibernate" option in the session menu (upper right corner of the screen)
i get this message:
failed to hibernate session
not authorized
then the screen locks
i have no problem login in, out restarting, suspending resuming from... but hibernation
So, I installed the xubuntu-desktop package on my Lubuntu netbook, but when I went to login to a xubuntu session nothing happened. The screen simply went momentarily blank and then came up with the original login screen again.
I tried with xfce session and got the same result.
Afternoon all,
I've got a laptop here for Xubuntu installed on it.
What I want is a laptop that will boot up and run rdektop and connect to a windows terminal server.
At start up I have three sessions I can log onto.
* Xfce
* Xterm
* Xubuntu
So far I've configured Xubuntu and created a script that runs when the normal Xubuntu Session Starts.
Hi, I need to open images most times with my standard image viewer, but sometimes with gimp or another program. I could use "right click" and "open with" in Nautilus, but I want to customize a shortcut, for better performance. Is that possible?
I work on Xubuntu 12.04 with Nautilus as default File Manager.
To anyone who knows anything about Ubuntu and lubuntu,
I have an error at startup that says:
"Xsession:unable to launch "/usr/bin/startlubuntu" X session ---
"/usr/bin/startlubuntu" not found; falling back to default session."
in the small window in which this message appears, is also a button that says "okay".
and when I click it, it shows a black s
Hey all,
I recently delved into Ubuntu 12.04 for my desktop and installed Xubuntu 12.04 on my HP 5103 netbook. I moved a ton of movies to the disk of the netbook, inadvertently using up a ton of disk space.
Hello
I am running Xubuntu 12.10 on top of a Window 7 VirtualBox. My native resolution is 1366x768 on a 13 inch screen. Everything is too small for my eyes. I simply want to make everything bigger, and not just the fonts. This sounds simple to me but I have searched for hours and been unsuccessful.
Is this possible at all? I tried to use xrandr.
I've done a fairly lengthy trawl of ubuntu forums and google etc but so far unable to quite grasp this one, hence asking for a bit of help.
I am using 64-bit Xubuntu 12.04 on a HP Pavilion DM4 14" laptop. no clever setups or hardware.
