I have a old laptop here model Fujtisu Siemens Amilo Pro V2040 and have no real problems aside from the wireless.
It didn't work after installing and when I entered the BIOS and enabled wireless it then found my wireless and was able to connect to it but constantly prompts me for a password and will not load any pages.
Hello, all,
I have an Asus t91mt netbook, running on xubuntu 12.04. I've been having wireless problem for a long time(half year maybe), I've searched a lot, I've asked on forums several times, but never got a working solution. I am giving another shot here.
The network manager applet is able to show the available wireless networks, please see the pic below.
During my tests i installed a Debian 6 Squeeze on an Old laptop with an integrated ethernet card and a PCMCIA wireless card.
Problem, after the install all works perfectly but the wireless, and installing new packages without a net is not so comfortable.
So I decided to use my laptop with Xubuntu as gateway, the Xubuntu has a working wireless card and a free ethernet slot.
hi,
I've got a weird wireless problem and I don't know why it is as it is...
My Dell Mini 1018 used to work fine with Ubuntu 12.04 with no problems connecting with the wireless card. Then I made the big mistake of attempting to disable WiFi by right-clicking on the wireless applet and un-checking "Enable Wireless." Since then, I cannot get wireless working again.
Hello all, I've tried looking through some of the problems with wireless networking and I can't quite find one that resolves my issue. Here's the deal.
The install of Ubuntu 11.10 on this laptop is about a week old, and wireless was working with the proprietary Broadcom STA wireless drivers.
I am pretty new to Linux and from everything i've read Ubuntu was pretty user friendly so someone who isnt too experienced with Linux. I installed Xubuntu 9.10 and I have a Intel(R) 5100 AGN wireless card. The problem i'm having is that I can't get my wireless card to authenticate (WPA/WPA2 personal) to my router. I can connect to unsecure networks fine but can't connect to any WPA connections..
this is my first post in the forums. I have peppermint os, a variant of Lubuntu 12.0.4, on my laptop.
Ever since installing ubuntu, I faced problems with getting my wireless card to work. The network manager applet would tell me that I was connected with a wireless Port, but I would still be unable to use the internet (Browsers returning "not connected to network").
I have been Using Ubuntu 9.04 on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 2727 and I recently performed a fresh install with 9.10. When I use the "sudo modprobe acerhk" command to turn the wireless on, it says "FATAL: Module acerhk not found." I'm lost and finally realising this Fn+1 software for the wireless is a real pain.
