I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Recently, the font size for all of my TTYs became much larger.
How can I change the font size back to the default?
According to the Mirror Status page, my mirror is 100% up to date.I don't think changing the font will help since the problem affects at least 3 different fonts (Mutter window title font, GTK+ 3 menu font, Gnome Terminal font, Chomium tab font) simultaneously.

i have a laptop with a high resolution. i installed ubuntu(a linux distro) on it, and then enlarged the system fonts. everything seemed perfect. but recently, i installed matlab on ubuntu, and i found that matlab not fall in with the system fonts, the font in matlab has the original size and too small for me.
How can i change the default font settings in xubuntu? All i can find is the overall font settings in the appearance menu, i want to be able to set things like my monospace font for the terminal?
It seem Ubuntu desktop has decided it will override font choice in printing and applications.
I am using Firefox, and to get FF fonts to where I want them - I have to tweak the desktop etc, fonts.
I am not trying to use a non-system font, just what came with 11.04. Normally, if the font is in the system, the application will use the font of choice.
Hullo. First-time Linux user here. Feeling the learning curve already, I think.Feel free to tell me if I'm out of line... Is it possible to change the style (font, specifically) of the root-menu without changing the styles of other menu items?I'm excited to learn, and I'm sorry in advance if I'm causing newbie-related grief to any of you lovely people.
I recently set up my Ubuntu installation for the first time and I think it's great, but I'm having problems with Chromium. In Firefox the font size is great; I can just adjust the font size across all web pages by pixels.
I know that:
Default font-is just default
Document font-for Documents
Window title fonts is for titles.
What the others are for? What is monospace font? I only know it's a font like any font.
Hinting is for notices like the names of objects in the dock, isn't it?
