Running Xubuntu 12.04 32-bit.
for T's and G's, I recently tried out the "xfce session" as opposed to the default "xubuntu session," chosen from login screen.
However, now I can't change the default back to "xubuntu session"!
Someone please help this is a serious first world struggle!
I tried editing .dmrc in $HOME, but that didn't do anything.
So, I installed the xubuntu-desktop package on my Lubuntu netbook, but when I went to login to a xubuntu session nothing happened. The screen simply went momentarily blank and then came up with the original login screen again.
I tried with xfce session and got the same result.

Afternoon all,
I've got a laptop here for Xubuntu installed on it.
What I want is a laptop that will boot up and run rdektop and connect to a windows terminal server.
At start up I have three sessions I can log onto.
* Xfce
* Xterm
* Xubuntu
So far I've configured Xubuntu and created a script that runs when the normal Xubuntu Session Starts.
When i he the "hibernate" option in the session menu (upper right corner of the screen)
i get this message:
failed to hibernate session
not authorized
then the screen locks
i have no problem login in, out restarting, suspending resuming from... but hibernation
Ok, I installed Xubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba Satalite C50 dual booted with windows 7. After that I eventually installed the KDE desktop and the Lubuntu Desktop after KDE. When I rebooted the boot screen said lubuntu instead of Xubuntu and the login screen is now the lubuntu login screen instead of the xubuntu one.
Here is my problem, I can't seen to get past the Lubuntu login screen.
Hey all,
I recently delved into Ubuntu 12.04 for my desktop and installed Xubuntu 12.04 on my HP 5103 netbook. I moved a ton of movies to the disk of the netbook, inadvertently using up a ton of disk space.
I just installed Xubuntu 12.04 onto my desktop and I seem to have an issue with the NVIDIA drivers. On the splash screen right before the login screen, where it usually says "Xubuntu" with the dots beneath it, the text is blocky and unreadable. Yet there dont seem to be any issues when i get past that into XFCE, no obvious graphical glitches.
HelloWhen I try to log on I get kicked out immediately and the following error message is shown: "Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. ... Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem."Details from ~/.session-errors file:"/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup... OpenSSL version mismatch.
