Hello. I recently used the "lsusb" command with my Galaxy Note 2 plugged in my pc. It showed up as a Galaxy S II. I've been trying to add files to the ext sd card with Nautilus, FileZilla or some other means. Nautilus will show the top level directories on the sd card, but won't show anything under them, when the sd card is installed in the phone.
Hi, I need to open images most times with my standard image viewer, but sometimes with gimp or another program. I could use "right click" and "open with" in Nautilus, but I want to customize a shortcut, for better performance. Is that possible?
I work on Xubuntu 12.04 with Nautilus as default File Manager.
Problem:
I have a folder containing around 1000+ files and subfolders for which I want to change file permissions (i.e. folders to 0755 and files to 0644).
Previously I was using ubuntu and nautilus could do that task but now I have switched to xubuntu and I am unable to find any such option in Thunar.
I am new to xfce (xubuntu 11.10) and was surprised at the featureless, unfriendly Thunar is used instead of Nautilus. Apparently Thunar cannot browse network shares (and many other things) the way Nautilus can. I have read and tried numerous work-arounds but none work very well.
In Xubuntu, icons in desktop don't show their emblems, no matter if they are links, directories or files. They appear to be ok in thunar and nautilus for the same files/directories.
How can I make emblems appear in desktop?
I use Xubuntu 12.10 and xfce 4.12.
First, some background.
I was running 12.10, which was a normal installation of Ubuntu. I then installed XFCE4 alongside it. In that configuration, Thunar could load all the thumbnails that Nautilus created, and it could also generate new thumbnails on brand-new files itself.
Then I did a...
Hello everybody.I don't use Crunchbang at this moment, but I installed Arch Linux next to it, trying to make some sort of Andreas/#! mix that I like better which is lighter. Don't get me wrong, Crunchbang is fast, but Debian is not thaaat fast, while Arch Linux is. So, I want to keep it that way: light.
Hi,
I've moved to the Xfce as many people says that it's faster, but first thing which I noticed was that the Thunar starts several seconds (for the first time during the session). But when I moved to the Gnome, Nautilus starts immediately when the double click is made. What's wrong there? How can I speed the Thunar's (first) start?
Thanks for help.
I am using Xubuntu 12.04 on my notebook.
I use the detailed list view in Thunar. Is there a way to make Thunar display the number of items in a subdirectory like Nautilus does?
When I open up a folder, all it says is "4.1kb" for every subdirectory, which isn't helpful in the least.
I have searched for an answer, but have found nothing.
Any help appreciated.
