Hi there.
Well im really new on xubuntu, starting using it since my hdd died, im using a live usb to run some programs and general stuff (like homework and web browsing)
Well the matter is that, normally, when i run xubuntu it doesnt ask me for password or username it just starts normally, but now, for some reason that i dont know it suddenly ask me to put an username and a password that i dont
I tried upgrading the Ubuntu on my trusty netbook and found 11.10 was way too slow. So I switched to xubuntu by installing the xubuntu-desktop package and then following the crazy instructions here : http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/purexfce
Now when I try to start up I get the xubuntu load-screen.
Ok, I installed Xubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba Satalite C50 dual booted with windows 7. After that I eventually installed the KDE desktop and the Lubuntu Desktop after KDE. When I rebooted the boot screen said lubuntu instead of Xubuntu and the login screen is now the lubuntu login screen instead of the xubuntu one.
Here is my problem, I can't seen to get past the Lubuntu login screen.
Hey all,
I recently delved into Ubuntu 12.04 for my desktop and installed Xubuntu 12.04 on my HP 5103 netbook. I moved a ton of movies to the disk of the netbook, inadvertently using up a ton of disk space.
Afternoon all,
I've got a laptop here for Xubuntu installed on it.
What I want is a laptop that will boot up and run rdektop and connect to a windows terminal server.
At start up I have three sessions I can log onto.
* Xfce
* Xterm
* Xubuntu
So far I've configured Xubuntu and created a script that runs when the normal Xubuntu Session Starts.
Using Xubuntu 12.04.1 with the standard LightDM login screen, I'm offered the choice between two sessions at login. One is "Xubuntu session" and the other is "Xfce session" (I do not save sessions automatically at exit).
However I see almost no difference in operation or appearance between the two.
Hi,
I'm very new to Xubuntu and just installed Xubuntu 13 Raring Ringtail for the family PC that my brother & father will use. They want to use separate user accounts (so they can separate their different firefox bookmarks & wallpaper backgrounds etc).
So, I installed the xubuntu-desktop package on my Lubuntu netbook, but when I went to login to a xubuntu session nothing happened. The screen simply went momentarily blank and then came up with the original login screen again.
I tried with xfce session and got the same result.
I have xubuntu 9.1 installed on a Dell Latitude D610 with an integrated intel graphics card (i915 according lsmod). I'm trying to use tv-out. When I start the laptop with the tv plugged in, it detects in and puts a cloned screen on the monitor and tv for the whole boot up.
