I've switched from xfce 4.8 to 4.10 and my skype has been crashing everytime I mic or cam. and it's really the only change I've done. So I'm wondering if it's a bug or something.
Xubuntu 12.04 or Linux Mint Xfce Maya would be fine in view of running a stable light system + Skype. Test Skype before you assume everything's ok, though.A lot of it will come down to aesthetics and who knows your mum's tastes better than you?I love #! but know my own mum would hate it. I love Xubuntu (once themed) but found Linux Mint Xfce a huge turn off.
In July, Xubuntu 12.04.1 and Linux Mint 13 XFCE are going to be released. I would like to know which is more stable than another one because my parent are using Ubuntu 10.04, which is very stable but remains one more year support. My parent do not know how dangerous the Internet is (viruses, spywares, etc) so I chose Ubuntu.
I installed UbuntuStudio (which uses XFCE), switched to Unity for a while, and then switched back to XFCE. The trouble is that I still have Unity things launching with my XFCE session, such as Evolution services and a couple of panel applets (Wanda the Fish and a clipboard tool).
Hi. I've been running Xubuntu 13.10 with xfce environment and thought I'd try Cinnamon which I'd installed some time ago. It seems ok until I open any of the panel items (eg Menu), at which point it appears to lock, ie it won't accept keystrokes or mouseclicks. This means I can't select Logout from the menu and thus can't get back to xfce. How can I tell Xubuntu to boot with xfce?
I am running on Xubuntu Xfce 14.04.
I am having difficulty installing Seahorse because of unnmet dependencies. I understand Seahorse is automatically included with Xubuntu so I may have corrupted the package somehow.
