Hello everyoneStatler amd64 Xfce here with Xfce4-panel. I have a couple of problems:1. Xfce4-panel + conky takes abnormally long to load after boot (about 30 secs with nothing but wallpaper).
I have searched for an answer to this both here and with Google but the only things I find are quite old, for Xfce 4.4 and older.
In Xubuntu 12.04 I want to place workspace switcher on a vertical panel to give myself more space on the top panel for the window list buttons. The problem is that the workspace switcher is still shown horizontally on the vertical panel. It would be great if the two workspace buttons were displayed vertically one on top of another.
After searching for a solution for a few days, I believe that this could be a bug. After increasing the height of the xfce-panel I noticed, that the icons of the window buttons remained small. Because this looks stupid and makes recognizing the icons harder than it has to be I want to increase the icon size of the window buttons of my xfce4-panel.
Hello all,I'm running Statler Xfce amd64, and I have deleted the tint2 panel (complete removal through Synaptic), because I wanted to use Xfce's own panel instead. After doing 'sudo xfce4-panel' it starts, but my problem is that it's lost after reboot.
As seen in my answer here, trying to make certain keyboard settings in Xfce I am faced by two separate options.
One is in Menu/Settings/Keyboards (xfce4-keyboard-settings) and displays this window:
The other is in the properties of the 'Keyboard Layouts' applet of the Xfce panel.
It seems that the settings made in the latter are the ones that count, while those of the former are pointless
I am using XFCE 4.10.
Whenever xfce-Panel is in particular use say any menu open from xfce-panel, either right click menu or application menu. Volume control and all other multimedia(play/pause,stop,prev,next, and volume control) keys stop working. As soon as click on desktop they start work again.
Any Solution??
Hi everyone. I'm new to Linux and new on this forum :).
I have Xubuntu 12.04, i was experimenting around and I accidently deleted the bottom panel (or is it a launcher). Now I want it back.
Does anyone know how to bring back the bottom panel. I have searched and searched but nothing helps. Thank you!
Also, is there an easier way to download and install themes to Xubuntu?
I'm on 12.04 with XFCE. After apt-get upgrade and rebooting, I noticed that I now have two wireless indicators in my xfce panel.
The one on the right is the usual one used by Unity and installed by the panel using the xfce4-indicator-plugin; it's a bit bigger. The one on the left is the extra. When I click on it, I get an "old"-style menu that doesn't fit the rest of the desktop theme .
