Hey all,
Was trying to install something today and then got this error:
Code:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information...
The question very simple and short. I am following this article to install OpenOfficle headless:
sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-headless openoffice.org-writer openoffice.org-draw
And I get the following error :
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information...
Around a year ago I installed OpenOffice on Ubuntu Server and didn't have any problems. I believe it was:
sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-headless openoffice.org-writer
Now it just tells me that it is unable to locate the package. I've tried all conceivable variations of the same. All of the examples I find don't work any longer.
I tried to install the openoffice.org package but it gave an error. Now i cannot repair, remove or install nothing. The Software center of xubuntu gives this error log. Nothing seems to solve this. I tried apt-get install -f but it does not solve the problem either. Any suggestions?

I have recently conducted a dist-upgrade that removed my openoffice. A little annoying as I had just set the package up as I like it.However on trying to re-install using apt-get i get the error message below:I have tried other ways to install but all meet with a similar error message.
i downloaded bandwidthd from here and tried to install it using Ubuntu Software Center.
It failed, but still it breaks my Xubuntu. Later i found that it is for 32 bit while mine is 64 bit system.
Hey Everyone,
I have been reading many posts on how to fix this issue in xubuntu 13.04, but only one worked for me and I had to do it in the order below. Now I can enjoy the latest xubuntu.
I know that many people here are recommending LibreOffice, but what if I want to use OpenOffice? How do I install it? I see in Synaptic Package Manager that, if I choose openoffice.org, it will also install a number of libreoffice packages. Seems that it will install LibreOffice rather than OpenOffice.I got an issue with LibreOffice on Mac but my spreadsheet works fine in OpenOff
What's Up?
OK, So After installing Xubuntu I couldent seem to get the net working, On my other computer with ubuntu, You just simply have to plug the etherport cable in and away you go.
Although you can see the eth0 in the edit connections bit, But you can use firefox, Seems weierd, to install Xubuntu alt. It needs the internet? So how'd it install?
