Xubuntu 12.04, mouse cursor disappears

http://askubuntu.com – I have Xubuntu 12.04 installed on my computer and there is an annoying problem with my mouse cursor. When I start the computer, it is usually fine, but if I leave it for a while it goes in sleeping mode, as it should, and then, e.g., in an hour I wake it up from sleeping mode, the mouse cursor is not there. Actually, it is only invisible but it is still active. If I hover with the mouse over some fields, they become highlighted as they should be when the mouse cursor is over them. Clicking on them also works fine. The only problem is that I don't see the cursor. If I restart the system, things (HowTos)

I just upgraded from 8.04 Ubuntu to 10.04. The mouse cursor works fine during login. As soon as the system switches to the desktop, the arrow cursor "image" disappears (remains working ..you just can't see it). The OS will also randomly shut down requiring a re boot.

I run a HTPC which I recently upgraded 11.2 -> 11.3.

Most things work fine but I've got an oddity.

I couldn't find anything on google, so I was wondering if you guys could help me?After installing the catalyst drivers I installed cinnamon via the AUR.Cinnamon loads fine, however, once the panel (and the desktop overall) loads, the mouse cursor flickers and becomes invisble.

I recently got a used computer from my Aunt and it currently has a little under a gig of RAM. Anyways I noticed a lot of the time that when I'm doing something, my mouse will freeze in the closing fist cursor.

It keeps doing this to me, and it's getting on my nerves. I have to force shut-down on my PC. I use a regular USB Optical Mouse.

I've got what I'm assuming is an odd variation of the old Nvidia disapeering mouse trick. Mouse cursor is fine when I log in. Fine sometimes for hours then I'll sit back down at the machine and it's gone. Some apps such as Glaxium can kill it even if I try to open the critter. I don't have 3d acceleration enabled yet.

On my asus1225c and i am getting crazy because the cursor disappears after a second of inactivity, if i don't touch the trackpad the cursor is not visible, but if move the trackpad the cursor is visible, i tried with an usb mouse and i have the same problem. I installed also xubuntu and i have the same problem, then i reinstalled ubuntu 12.04, does someone know this problem? can you help me?

In Ubuntu 12.04 Unity, when I use the Compiz Zoom feature, the mouse cursor disappears. This did not happen in 10.04, it worked great until I installed 12.04.

In 12.04 zoom was disabled by default, so I re-enabled it to use Super+scroll wheel as it was before.

I was really not sure where to post this because I installed Ubuntu but this problem only happens under KDE... so far...

Anyway, I searched the forum and found lots of threads about mouse cursor disapearing but none like mine.

I am trying out live xubuntu on my samsung n150 (netbook, similar to eeepc). So far everything seems perfect, except for this one thing.

When I am clicking the mouse while moving the cursour, the click event is delayed. This is extremely annoying when i try to to move windows, because i end up clicking the window behind the window i am trying to move and thereby changing focus.
