Out of curiosity: is there a reason why Xorg Server package is still at version 1.12 ? Doesn't even catalyst-legacy support version 1.13 ? Many distros are shipping 1.14 already.

AMD has recently dropped support for cards in series HD 2xxx-4xxx. Catalyst drivers for these cards are now available in a different branch, called Legacy series. Legacy drivers won't receive any new feature updates from AMD.
Proprietary fglrx drivers for these legacy cards are not compatible with Quantal.

I had installed the xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-legacy package from rpmfussion repository. The xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-legacy-libs and kmod-catalyst-legacy packages had been installed automatically. The X server did not work after this.
