I installed Arch i686 on a VirtualBox VM (I have an nvidia GT610). I ran the following commmand as root:
pacman -S nvidia
After installation and rebooting, I ran
pacman -S xorg-server xorg-xinit xorg-server-utils xorg-twm xorg-xclock xterm
then
startx
I got a fatal error saying No screens found. Any help as to what should I do ?

So when i issue the startx command (as root or as nonroot), the xserver starts after all the checks, then 0.5 second later, the console comes back.: (Here's what happens when I issue the startx command:the screen re-sizes into a black screen, then goes back to the console(im using virtualbox emulator)Here's what happens when I execute the troubleshooting command: grub 'EE' /var
Often (every fifth time perhaps) when I turn on my system, I'm greeted with the "running in low-graphics mode” window. Sometimes all I have to do is reboot and the system will start correctly, sometimes there can be a longer series of failed starts.

A time ago I booted up in ubuntu (dualboot laptop with win7 and Ubuntu 12.04) And I always got in the tty1.

So I tried regular stuff like replacing xorg.conf with xorg.conf.backup, updating & upgra
Recently I've added ppa:xorg-edgers to software sources and upgraded all packages.
After I restarted and logged in the screen flashed and closed xserver and the same thing happened when I typed startx in terminal.
Lightdm works correctly but xserver encounter some problems so that I purged the previous ppa using ppa-purge xorg-edgersto rollback changes , reinstalling or reconfiguring xserver but i
After a fresh install, I updated the system, installed X.org, and installed GNOME.
My problem is that more often than not, when I boot into Ubuntu 12.04 it brings me to the Command-line prompt and asks for my login. After logging in I have to either try using
sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.confg
Or
Reinstall the Nvidia 310 drivers in order to get my GUI back.
The error that the terminal puts out is 0 Screens found. I am quite confused as to why that is.
Hi guys....I'm new to Fedora and recently I've installed Fedora 10 in my laptop, the installation was successful but whenever I start my OS I get the error which says:-
