https://bbs.archlinux.org – Hi,I didn't know where to put this (is it harware problem? is it xorg problem?). I tried to get hibernation to work on my PC. I can hibernate successfuly and I can even resume, but xorg isn't working properly after resuming. I can use SSH to find that PC is up and running (even the applications I left running before hibernation are running) but screen only shows black with mouse cursor (not standard, but "I", what it looks like in text fields). I can move the cursor, but it's very slow and laggy. Nothing other works. If I hibernate from console, without xorg running, r (HowTos)

I'm on Arch and I have a strange issue with systemctl hibernate command. It hibernates and resumes just fine (I have TuxOnIce), but in the last stage of resume, it completely shuts down my laptop screen, so I cannot see anything even though I know the system resumed just fined and the desktop is running.

I'm running ubuntu 11.10 on a dell laptop and after 3-4 hibernation cycles (switch off-resume) I can no longer hibernate because there is not enough free memory in the swap partition.

I'm trying to setup hibernate on my new rig, and I've gotten tuxonice working a few times, but then I had a failed hibernate, and sense then, I can't resume from a hibernate. TuxOnIce has the loading bar, and the text interface, and successfully brings the computer into hibernate. However when resuming from hibernate, the screen stays black, then displays random pixels everywhere, and hangs.

Since switching to Karmic, suspend and hibernate are not working consistently on my Toshiba Satellite. I have it set to hibernate when I close the lid, but doing so only turns off the screen. The suspend and hibernate keys on my keyboard also no longer work. When I select these options from the menu, the computer will suspend or hibernate properly.

I get no errors on Xorg.0.log but I can't get KDE to get up.When I run /etc/rc.d/kdm start, it looks like X is started but all I see in tty/7 is a black screen with a static cursor at the upper left corner.These are my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files: (I had to generate an xorg.conf file since autodetection wasn't working)xorg.conf:Section "ServerLayout"    Identifier&

Hi, I'm trying to set up ubuntu on a asus eee pc 1101HA, and I can't say it's been easy, however I did manage to solve most problems. One thing I can't fix is resuming from hibernation/standby. When resuming from hibernation I get these two messages:

I have an IBM thinkpad t42.

Upon resume from hibernation, everything works fine except the screen. It either stays black, or is filled with various amount of colourful stripes.I am running Nvidia proprietary drivers (nouveau not an option due to poor power management) and TuxOnIce. Does someone know how to fix that?

Hi, Initially hibernate/resume was working fine. But now system hibernate but doesn't resume, instead it boot-up normally.
