Hello everyoneStatler amd64 Xfce here with Xfce4-panel. I have a couple of problems:1. Xfce4-panel + conky takes abnormally long to load after boot (about 30 secs with nothing but wallpaper).
Hello all,I'm running Statler Xfce amd64, and I have deleted the tint2 panel (complete removal through Synaptic), because I wanted to use Xfce's own panel instead. After doing 'sudo xfce4-panel' it starts, but my problem is that it's lost after reboot.
I'm on 12.04 with XFCE. After apt-get upgrade and rebooting, I noticed that I now have two wireless indicators in my xfce panel.
The one on the right is the usual one used by Unity and installed by the panel using the xfce4-indicator-plugin; it's a bit bigger. The one on the left is the extra. When I click on it, I get an "old"-style menu that doesn't fit the rest of the desktop theme .
As seen in my answer here, trying to make certain keyboard settings in Xfce I am faced by two separate options.
One is in Menu/Settings/Keyboards (xfce4-keyboard-settings) and displays this window:
The other is in the properties of the 'Keyboard Layouts' applet of the Xfce panel.
It seems that the settings made in the latter are the ones that count, while those of the former are pointless
I have installed Xubuntu desktop on top of initial Lubuntu 12.04 installation.
How can I select between the wireless networks and how to see the app in the panel?
I used Xfce in the past but I do not remember how to add it (I had it by default then I guess)
I have installed Wicd and added it in a launcher
, but I'm thinking about a "live" applet for the panel that I'm missing for the moment
After searching for a solution for a few days, I believe that this could be a bug. After increasing the height of the xfce-panel I noticed, that the icons of the window buttons remained small. Because this looks stupid and makes recognizing the icons harder than it has to be I want to increase the icon size of the window buttons of my xfce4-panel.
I could resolve this for myself by starting pulse via the LXDM PostLogin script instead of xfce's session management. Apparently pulse startup simply seemed to be too slow to be recognized by the panel plugin causing it to fall back.
Hello all,
I had NO luck searching for a solution to my problem on the Internet, but I figured out a solution and wanted to share it. I did this under Xubuntu 11.10.
I am running a pretty peculiar setup right now with LXDE, plank and the XFCE4-panel. This works fine, but I can't seem to find the messaging menu under the system tray options:
Is there any service I have to add to my autostart apps for the messaging menu to show?
