When I right click the menu and choose a file from "Recent Files", an information window pops up saying "failed to execute child process "firefox-bin" (No such file or directory)". The file was downloaded from the internet and should have been stored in the downloads folder.Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,I have problem with setting as default file manager nautilus. When I click Right Buttom Mouse and I choose "File Manager", open Thunar. This situation is repeat also, when I click RBM and choose "Places" and next "Browser here...".In "GUI Menu Editor" I set in "File Manager" execute "nautilus" but it's not working.
I use KDE as my primary desktop environment. I also have GNOME and Xfce installed along side. As a result (I think), different applications use different file manager for desktop integration. Dropbox uses Nautilus. Ubuntu One uses Nautilus. Firefox uses Thunar (when you click on the downloads to show the directory). How do I make them use Dolphin instead?
I'm running Statler Openbox. How do I change the default file manager, so that when I "open containing folder" in Firefox or other browser, it will open the folder in the file manager I prefer?I want PCManFM as my default, but I also want to keep Thunar installed (good to have a backup, and Thunar's great for bulk renaming).
I installed Xubuntu on a new laptop I got, and this being my first time using xfce, I accidentally told my dropbox folder to open with nautilus (coming from ubuntu) and not thunar. Now it will not allow me to open the folder via the task bar. Is there any way to tell it to use thunar instead?
In firefox, I receive the error message "<file>,could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder." every time I try to save to a folder outside the default firefox downloads folder. I receive this message even if I am owner of the folder and I explicitly have write permissions to that folder. I've even tried setting permissions 0777 with no luck.
I downloaded a .deb from Dropbox website. When I tried to open it with Software Center, I got an error about unresolvable dependencies. Anyway, I tried again later and it worked properly. But now, every single time I launch Firefox, it pops up the dialog saying "You have chosed to download file.extension, what would you like to do?" or some such wording.
So... my default File Manager is Thunar. However, after installing Transmission, if I right click a torrent and select "Open folder" it opens it with, surprise, Nautilus !I had no idea Nautilus is installed. How did it get installed, why, how do I make transmission open with my default file manager and... do this kind of things often happen ?
My system default is Nautilus. But when I right-click in Downloads and choose "open containing folder", it opens Thunar and not Nautilus.
How can I change that?
