Citrix has announced this week that XenServer 6.2 is now fully open-source software. Citrix has made XenServer 6.2 available to all users as a free open-source virtualization platform, beyond just the Xen hypervisor that has been apart of the Linux kernel and one of the leading Linux virtualization systems aside from Linux KVM.
DPM (Microsoft Data Protection Manager) Do you have an application open source alternative? (With support for SAN). Bacula, Amanda, Clonzilla, etc. .. Is there? I want to take a backup of virtual machines, Citrix XenServer Enterprise.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
I am new to Citrix and am thinking of proposing a Citrix solution for our home and remote office workers. My question is regarding deployment and licensing. To allow the clients to have remote application deployment via Citrix XenApp do we need to buy anything in addition to the Citrix XenApp and Windows Server 2008? Is there additional Citrix software/licensing that is required?
